A note on the minimum size of a vertex pancyclic graph
Let G be a graph on n/> 3 vertices. Then G is vertex pancyclic if every vertex of G is contained in cycles of length 3, 4, . . . , n. Let m n denote the minimum number of edges of a vertex pancyclic graph on n vertices. We show that m 3 = 3, m, = 5, m 5 = 7, m 6 = 9, and ~ n < m. ~< [_~ n ] (n >~ 7).
متن کاملA note on vertex pancyclic oriented graphs
Let D be an oriented graph of order n 9, minimum degree n ? 2, such for choice of distinct vertices x and y, either xy 2 E(D) or d + (x)+d ? (y) n?3. Song (J. Graph Theory 18 (1994), 461{468) proved that D is pancyclic. In this note, we give a short proof, based on Song's result, that D is in fact vertex pancyclic. This also generalizes a result of Jackson (J. Graph Theory 5 (1981), 147{157) fo...
متن کاملA note on the order graph of a group
The order graph of a group $G$, denoted by $Gamma^*(G)$, is a graph whose vertices are subgroups of $G$ and two distinct vertices $H$ and $K$ are adjacent if and only if $|H|big{|}|K|$ or $|K|big{|}|H|$. In this paper, we study the connectivity and diameter of this graph. Also we give a relation between the order graph and prime graph of a group.
متن کاملFinding all minimum-size separating vertex sets in a graph
We present a new algorithm based upon network flows for finding all minimum size separating vertex sets in an undirected graph. The sequential implementation of our algorithm runs in ®(mm(max(Mnk,knmmin(k,'In)),mQx(Mn,k2n3))) = 0 (2 kn3) time, where M is the number of minimum size separating vertex sets The parallel implementai 6 tion runs either in 0 (&logn) deterministic time using ©(M2n2 + k...
متن کاملA note on a graph related to the comaximal ideal graph of a commutative ring
The rings considered in this article are commutative with identity which admit at least two maximal ideals. This article is inspired by the work done on the comaximal ideal graph of a commutative ring. Let R be a ring. We associate an undirected graph to R denoted by mathcal{G}(R), whose vertex set is the set of all proper ideals I of R such that Inotsubseteq J(R), where J(R) is...
